A Little Bit About Me...
Licensed as Marriage and Family Therapist in early 2007 (MFC 44479), I have 5 years of experience working with clients. I graduated from John F. Kennedy University in 2003 with a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology through their Transpersonal Psychology program. I wrote my Master's Thesis on Cult Recovery and how to help clients heal from abusive cult experiences or controlling relationships.

I define my style of therapy as helping my clients find what is authentic and true for them. I have found that I have been drawn to the same clients that seem drawn to me -- young women, like myself, who are facing the passage into adulthood... and all that entails. My own experience and training combine to bring a rich and compassionate approach to every client.
Some of my interests include:
  • The Arts (both technical and fine art)
  • Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered, Queer, and Questioning individuals
  • Cultural Anthropology
  • Martial Arts
  • AIDS and Chronic Illness
  • Animal Assisted Therapy
  • 12-Step Programs
As an intern (prior to getting licensed in 2007), I worked in:
  • hospice, doing bereavement counseling
  • a chemical dependency treatment program, helping recovering addicts
  • an elementary school as the on-site Counselor
Since 2002, I have worked with clients dealing with:
  • Grief / Loss
  • Issues facing GLBTQ individuals and couples
  • Chronic Illness (including Caregiver issues)
  • Depression
  • Couples issues
  • Relationship Issues (couples and individuals)
  • Adult and Child Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse
  • Pet Loss
  • Artistic Blocks
  • Adult Survivors of Childhood Physical Abuse
